Jacob Chavez Preaches

February 16th, 2025

"Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." - 1 Timothy 4:12

While none are perfect, Jacob does a beautiful job embodying this Bible verse. He's young, full of life, and already full of wisdom of God's love and purpose. Jacob stepped up today to encourage the church and he did a wonderful job. At Tower Hill, our youth group is strong and growing stronger all the time. If you have kids in your family come check us out!

One thing visitors often say is how welcoming we are as a group. If you are looking for an active home congregation that will love you where you are and challenge you to grow, come down and check us out! You are always welcome here.

Brother Jordan Baker

January 26th, 2025

We are blessed to have Brother Jordan Baker, from the Fall River church of Christ, break the bread of life with us. Jordan is a graduate of the Sunset Bible Institute, and preaches for us on the 4th Sunday of every month. From Bible studies to encouraging words, to lessons of loss, Jordan is always sharing his perspective of life as a Christian. It's encouraging to have the support of some of the congregations in the area! We are always praying for Jordan and his family.

Matt Johnston on Sunday Mornings

January 19th, 2025

We do not have an official preacher at Tower Hill; something we hope to remedy in the future. Brother Matt Johnston has stepped up and brought the majority of our Sunday morning lessons since our planting in 2024. He speaks from the heart and from the word of God and has been an encouragement to our family and visitors at Tower Hill. Matt currently teaches a Bible class on Sunday mornings as well. On months that have 5 Sundays, our young men step up and deliver a Youth Led worship service. It's always encouraging to our members, especially our older members, to hear the word of God from upcoming generations!

Christmas Boxes

It's more blessed to give than to recieve! We were reminded of that yet again as we prepared and executed our first Christmas Box giveaway! We prepared 25 boxes filled with hams, fruits, and all kinds of holiday goodies. We also had hats, gloves, scarves, and jackets available for anyone who needed them. The bible says our righteousness is like filthy rags to God. We don't give to be worthy. We give because we love! We give so that others will see God in us. Let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven!

Matt Chavez' First Lesson

December 15th, 2024

It's the season for sickness! With many of our members sick or traveling, Brother Matt Chavez stepped up to deliver his first Sunday morning lesson today! We were all blessed to hear the message, whether in person or online. It's always encouraging when people step out of their comfort zone, in faith. Real faith is brave and always ready to give an answer for the hope that is within us. Thanks for the encouragement, Brother!

Yankee Swap

It has been a year full of unexpected twists and turns, but God always seems to work things out for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. At our first Yankee Swap we reminisced on the blessings of the year and had a lot of laughs with friends and family, old and new! Come be a part of something life changing at Tower Hill!

Mid-Week Encouragement

December 4th, 2024

We have a growing group that gathers on Wednesday evenings for Mid-Week Encouragement! We meet around 5:00pm and share a meal together before getting into some great Bible discussions. We have members from the church of Christ as well as members from other churches throughout Rhode Island. One of the highlights of our Wednesday evenings is when we make a list, sometimes lengthy, of all the things we need to pray about and all the people we need to pray for. Then we pray together. It's so encouraging to be a part of and it's inspiring to look back and see all the prayers God has answered already!

Thanksgiving Boxes

November 23rd, 2024

Tower Hill church of Christ Thanksgiving Baskets - 1

We gave away twenty five boxes of Thanksgiving meals today and some of the youth worked with Mr. Matt Chavez and learned how to change a flat. We saw Jesus in the church today and it was beautiful! Thank you to everyone who helped gather food and turkeys during the week, and for everybody who donated money and for everybody who donated their time. Lots of good seeds planted. God has been so good to us. To Him be the glory!!

Harvest Festival

October 26th, 2024

We had at least 84 beautiful souls come out to our Harvest Festival today! We had members from the Warwick, and Providence churches, as well as members from Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We were also blessed to meet many wonderful people from our local communities! A day full of fun, memories, and blessings! To God be the glory!!!

Harvest Hymn Sing

October 6th, 2024

We had our first Hymn Sing as Tower Hill today. It was a beautiful and encouraging day with our family and friends. Josh Hoitt, a new graduate of the Sunset Bible Institute, brought the lesson this morning. Following the lesson we had our Hymn Sing. We had visitors from Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts and we are thankful for their support! May we sing of God's love for us until we are called home!

Ganderbrook Ladies Retreat

September 12th-14th 2024

Our Deanna was one of the group leaders at this year's Ganderbrook Ladies Retreat in Maine this year. Deanna is an encouragement and a blessing to our Tower Hill family and we are glad that others see her value as well. It was an encouraging weekend for those who attended. Being intentional about attending events within the brotherhood is a great way to grow in your faith. All of our paths are different and there is much we can learn from each other. Faith & Flames 🔥

Tower Hill church of Christ Faith and Flames

We are so thankful that the cooler weather is arriving! God blessed us with a BEAUTIFUL evening. We enjoyed a meal together and then had a fireside singing and devotional. Jeremiah led singing and Benjamin brought a devo about the different ways we are persecuted as Christians. He reminded us that there's nothing new under the sun and to stay strong because our cause is GREAT! We are so greatful for our young leaders and their desire to learn and grow and encourage. Sometimes it takes a spark from the youth to encourage the adults. Please continue to pray for the youth in our congregation, throughout New England, and the rest of our nation. 🇺🇸

Making Progress

Tower Hill church of Christ Rhode Island

It has been another encouraging week at Tower Hill! The Boone family reserved a private venue for a cookout and day of relaxing, which was needed and appreciated after the past few months of physical work a lot of our members have put in. Thank you Christina! Brother Jason brought us a beautiful lesson about the Holy Spirit on Sunday. We are so thankful for Brother Jay and his family! Tonight we planned to have a bonfire/cookout/devo. Unfortunately, it was muggy and buggy, so we postponed the fire and watched and discussed the season 1 finale of The Chosen! May we all be full of faith like the woman at the well! We had at least 37 present. God is good, all the time!

Guest Speaker

August 18, 2024

We had a great lesson from brother Jordan Baker about the Great Commission. It's always good to have a guest preacher! Love to our church family in Fall River, Massachusetts! We're looking forward to an encouraging lesson next week from one of our Tower Hill brothers, Lord willing! Join us Wednesday at 5:30pm for a meal and encouragement! We are watching The Chosen TV series, one episode at a time, and comparing it with the Bible. Come join us and bring your friends and family!

Foundation Service

August 11th, 2024

We had our Foundation Service today! It was a beautiful and blessed day! We had 45 in attendance and three states represented. We had guests from sister congregations as well as guests from the community. Matt Johnston brought a lesson laying the groundwork for the great things the Tower Hill church of Christ will accomplish for the Kingdom, if the Lord wills and we live! We had lunch delivered and had some long overdue fellowship time with friend both old and new. May God continue to bless our efforts to grow the Kingdom and spread the Gospel to a lost and dying world.

New Sign

August 10th, 2024

The new sign is in! It looks great from Route 1. According to RIGOV, Route 1 in South Kingstown gets an average of 35,000 to 40,000 vehicles a day! We are ready to go fishing for souls! There is still A LOT of work to be done around the grounds and in the building, but day by day progress is being made. Everyone is excited for our Foundation Service tomorrow! We are anticipating guests from across the state and possibly other states as well. Everything we accomplish is in the name of God, and we are only able to accomplish things by His will and blessings!

Work Day

August 5th, 2024

The work continues! Today we setup the projector and other A/V equipment to get ready for our first worship service this coming Sunday! Jacob Chavez finished mowing the lawn in front of the building, and we installed the new sign frame that Matt Chavez made. It's great to spend time together while working for the Kingdom! Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Progress Update

July 29, 2024

We're looking forward to the new opportunities God has waiting for us on Tower Hill Rd.! It's exciting to have the opportunity to reach out to a new community. This week we'll start preparing the basement for renovations. This website was launched this week, as well as our public Facebook page. We also have a Great Giveaway coming up on August 17th 9:30am at the Kent County building, 42 Nooseneck Hill Rd. West Greenwich. We're clearing everything out and everything must go! Everything is free. Take what you can use. This will be our last event at Kent County.

For the past month many of our members have been actively involved in Tidal River Christian Camp. This camp has been a haven for Christian youth in Southern New England for more than 50 years. We have youth who attend as campers and others who attend as counselors. Three of our members make up 25% of the TRCC Board of Directors. Some of our members even met their spouses of more than 20 years at TRCC. Needless to say, there are not a lot of places in the world for young people to have wholesome fun while growing closer to Jesus. Please continue to pray for this good work, that it may last until the Lord returns!

New Roof

June 28th, 2024

This property was overdue for some TLC. But the Lord will provide! We were blessed to be able to put a new roof on our meeting place today. The local construction team got the job done in less than a day! This was the first of three major repairs to the property. The other two bing the basement gutting and remodel due to extensive mold, and new siding. If the Lord wills and we live, we will see it done! These repairs are not cheap, but we're going to save a lot of souls under this roof! Every day we become more excited about starting this new work in the community! God is good, all the time!

First Work Day

June 1st, 2024

Today was our first work day. We had many people show up to lend a hand, which is always encouraging. Even some of our Wednesday night friends from other congregations showed up to help! This 1.7 acre property is going to take some adjusting to, but we have lots of willing people who love to serve! We got the lawn mowed, took down a rotten birch tree, cleared some brush, cleaned up the garden beds, dusted and vacuumed, and had fun doing it! Some of our teens even got to learn how to use a chainsaw for the first time. Keeping it rugged, New England!

Our First Visit

May 5th, 2024

We had our first group visit to the property on Tower Hill Rd. today. Some of our members were members at of the South County church of Christ more than 20 years ago. In a way it was like going home. It's beautiful to remember those days when there were so many strong and faithful Christians worshiping here. We aim to see those days restored and even greater goals achieved for the sake of the Kingdom! If the Lord blessed our work it will not fail. If we keep our hearts close to Him we will be blessed! May we give all glory to God in everything we do.

New Beginning

March 3, 2024

We are excited to announce a new church planting in Southern Rhode Island! Many of us have been a part of the Kent County church of Christ in West Greenwich, Rhode Island since its inception. We were extended an offer to utilize and revitalize the former South County church property on Tower Hill Rd. We have been working hard getting the property ready for months. The Lord has blessed us with the means and desire to become a new beacon of hope in southern Rhode Island, pointing the way to Jesus and helping everyone we can along the way. God is good, all the time!
